Perhaps it’s a habit that emerges from his deep relationship to not just music, but sound itself.
The Dirty Projector’s sample pack IVO SHANDOR I is a testament to that relationship—filled with sounds ranging from three-part horn blasts to light flute passages, and named after Longstreth’s studio (a former cabinet factory).
Longstreth took time to discuss the Dirty Projectors sample pack and how samples found their way into his own process.
