“I think music is my life,” says Ontario born Berlin-based veteran techno producer Marc Houle “I just wake up music. I’m thinking about songs all the time.”
Between touring a pristine live hardware set, constantly building new music in his Berlin studio, and releasing a stream of challenging and cerebral dance music via his Items & Things imprint, Houle certainly lives music more than most.
But despite releasing formative music for over a decade, his workflow remains grounded in what’s really important to production: “I don’t ever want music to be work. I just want it to be pure fun, pure enjoyment, pure learning and pure experimentation.”
